A november 12-i halo komplexum talán még több meglepetést tartogatott, mint azt először gondoltam. Ahogy Markótól megtudtam, a zenitkörüli ív alatt megjelenő halo akár egy igen ritka 46°-os kontakt ív is lehetett, amit először 2006. november 3-án fotóztak a finnországi Muonio melletti Särkijärvi iskolánál ( 1 - 2 ). Ezt a halót Lowitz állású kristályok hozzák létre, és éppen ezért alaposabban átnéztem a fotókat. Körülbelül 5-7 perccel azelőtt, hogy a lehetséges kontakt-ív feltűnt volna, több képen is látszik a 22°-os halo tetején, a Parry ív felé nyúló sáv, ami akár Lowitz ív is lehet. Persze nem zárható ki, hogy csupán a jpg formátum átka, és a valóságban ott sem volt.
The display of 12 November brings up more questions than I first thought. As Marko called my attention to it, the halo patch underneath the circumzenith arc could have been the rare 46° contact arc, which was first photographed at Särkijärvi School near Muonio in Finland on 3 November 2006 ( 1 - 2 ). This halo is formed by Lowitz oriented crystals, and therefore I looked at my photos for Lowitz arcs. 5-7 minutes before the possible contact arc became visible, there is a stripe in several photos at the top of the 22° halo stretching towards the Parry. This could be a Lowitz arc - or simply an unfortunate artefact of the jpg format.
